SUBSTRATE: epiphyte, with small erect lobes.
CHARACTERISTICS: grey on the upper surface, black on the underside; rare apothecia, soredia very frequent; highly nitrophytic species, favored by dust and nitrogen, even in cities, it has partly hollow lobes with soredia on the tips, on small hood-like structures.
NAME’S ORIGIN: Latin fuisales, hollow; ascendĕre, to ascend.
