GROWTH FORM: pleurocarpous moss.
CHARACTERISTICS: very narrow leaves, lance-shaped and strongly longitudinally plicate; long seta and cylindrical and very elongated capsules.
ECOLOGY: grows as glossy golden mats or patches, usually on tree bark or branches.
