CHARACTERISTICS: body with several shades of brown, with reddish hind head and neck sides; big dark eyes; short whiskers close to beak.
FOOD: insects. 
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial; during the day remains camouflaged and motionless on the soil; hunts prey in flight; nests on the ground.
