OCCURRENCE: breeding resident.
CHARACTERISTICS: blue male with dark wings; female greyish; drooping wings at rest.
FOOD: insects, small vertebrates and berries.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial; solitary and elusive; faithful to its territory; sometimes nests in abandoned buildings.
