CHARACTERISTICS: tree with grey bark and crevices; compound leaves with 5-13 leaflets which fall in the winter; unisexual or hermaphrodite flowers; samara fruit type.
ECOLOGY: margins of streams, floodplains and deciduous woodlands.
OBSERVATIONS: one of the most common riparian species in the country, used as an ornamental in green spaces.
