CHARACTERISTICS: smooth scales; brownish dorsal scales with dark round blotches; small wide head, with a black horseshoe spot on top; aglyphous.
FOOD: small mammals, geckos, wall and green lizards, and small birds.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial and a climber; kills prey by biting or by constriction; when in danger it coils, hisses and tries to bite.
