CHARACTERISTICS: round wings with the superior side coloured by an almost uniform pattern of brown- -chocolate, inferior side is light-green with white stripes more or less visible and brown edges; eyes surrounded by a white ring; antennae and legs with an alternated pattern of black and white, and a red patch in the end of the antennae; light thorax and abdomen. DEVELOPMENT: indirect. ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: feeds mainly on legumes; territorial; common and ubiquitous; can be observed from March to June in a wide variety of habitats but mainly uncultivated lands with shrubs or live fences.
