OCCURRENCE: summer nesting migrant.
CHARACTERISTICS: dark back and wings with small white spots, whitish throat and belly; very long tail; crest on top of the head; juveniles are reddish.
FEEDING HABITS: insects, especially caterpillars.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial habits; lays its the eggs in other birds’ nests, such as Azure-winged magpie and Eurasian jay.
