CHARACTERISTICS: aromatic shrub with small whitish green leaves; violet flowers grouped in a spike; the peduncle of the spike is at least two times longer than the spike.
ECOLOGY: open dry places on poor soils and acid substrates.
OBSERVATIONS: honey plant; used in perfumery.
