CHARACTERISTICS: small shrub with velvety light-green leaves due to the presence of numerous hairs; yellow flowers arranged in several circles along the stem in groups of four to ten.
ECOLOGY: dry and stony places.
OBSERVATIONS: medicinal (e.g. antioxidant); distinguishable from P. purpurea by the color of flowers.
