GROWTH FORM: thallose liverwort.
CHARACTERISTICS: thallus dichotomously branched and dorsal side with numerous pores; abundant discoidal gemmae produced in half-moon gemma-cups; capsules very rare.
ECOLOGY: grows in garden soils, cultivated sites and natural areas; restricted to areas with good environmental quality.
