CHARACTERISTICS: canaliculated leaves with rounded apex; usually fertile; distinctive capsule, with immerse stomata.
ECOLOGY: forms tufts on tree trunks; tolerant to high air pollution.
DISTRIBUTION: widespread in Portugal.
