CHARACTERISTICS: shrub with small whitish-green leaves; purple flowers grouped in a spike with two long modified structures similar to petals above, also purple; peduncle shorter than two times de length of the spike.
ECOLOGY: shrubland and woodland clearings; open areas; poor, siliceous and acidic or neutral substrates.
OBSERVATIONS: medicinal and aromatic.
