BREEDING SEASON:

CHARACTERISTICS: wings with rounded edges and white pattern (upper side) or cream (lower side) and
dark-brown to black nervures; lower side of posterior wings with blue ocelli with reddish contour; dark head, thorax and abdomen and a pair of black filiform antennae.
DEVELOPMENT: indirect.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: endemic to Iberian Peninsula and North Africa; relatively uncommon and widespread; feeds on graminoids; can be observed from March to June; prefers grasslands with or without trees, preferable oak type.
