CHARACTERISTICS: annual herb with many trichomes; basal leaves in a rosette;
flowers along the stem, sustained by arched red stalks, erect in the last flower;
yellow flower with black spots in the center.
ECOLOGY: dry sandy soils, schistose or granitic.
OBSERVATIONS: very frequent; may be confused with other plants from the same genus.
