CHARACTERISTICS: dark brown back and white fleck on the chest; elongated body; long bushy tail; short limbs; large head; short and rounded ears.
FOOD: small mammals and birds and a great variety of fruit.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: active all year; shelters in rock cracks or tree trunks; good swimmer and climber; especially active during nights with a full moon.
