CHARACTERISTICS: annual herb tuft forming; spikelets detach easily from the
peduncles without breaking due to a little articulation, i.e. they are geniculate (name origin).
ECOLOGY: shrublands, cultivated and abandoned fields.
OBSERVATIONS: very common on in the Alentejo grasslands.
