OCCURRENCE: summer nesting migrant.
CHARACTERISTICS: grey-blue back and head, yellow chest and belly; males with brighter colors.
FOOD: insects.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOR: terrestrial; along with swallows, they are the first migratory birds to arrive in spring.
