OCCURRENCE: breeding resident.
CHARACTERISTICS: brown, orange and grey back; white stripe on the wing, orange head with black eye-ring; females with fainted colours; thick beak.
FOOD: seeds.
ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR: terrestrial; shy; vocalizations with a high, as well as low, intensity pitch.
